Tania Hershman's short story, On A Roll, is broadcast on BBC Radio 4 during their Heartbreak Hotel week of stories.


14 November 2005

Bristol Tales contains stories by Louise Gethin and Darren Croucher. The book is published by Endpapers as part of their 2005 Tales series and is launched at Borders bookshop in Clifton, Bristol.


October 2005

Lucy Christopher is offered a book deal by the children's publisher Chicken House for her novel The Long Flight which was written on the MA course. Lucy now teaches on the Creative Studies course at Bath Spa University.


September 2005

Ally Kennen's debut novel for young adults, Beast, is bought by Marion Lloyd Books, a new imprint from Scholastic. The book will be published in June 2006.


Autumn 2005

The White Road by Tania Hershman is included in the Route anthology Wonderwall, published in September. The story was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in January. Her story Spin Cycle appears in the October issue of Spoiled Ink.

Watermark authors from the MA in Creative Writing class of 2003/04 attend their graduation day at Bath Spa University College.

Ann Newbegin is local winner in the Frome Literary Festival competition with her story Shards. Her prize was presented by Clare Morrall, and the story will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in the Spring as part of their Opening Lines series.

Contributors Sadie Walters, Ursula Wills-Jones and Pauline Masurel read live at Il Bordello in Bristol for Another One Of Those Nights compèred by Annie McGann.


25 June 2005

Louise Gethin is awarded first prize in the Annual Writers' Conference competition at University College Winchester for her shorter short story, Innocent's Baby .

Reality TV by Pauline Masurel is republished in Issue 47 of The Barcelona Review


30 March - 2 April 2005

Tim Middleton, head of the School of English and Creative Studies, takes Watermark to the AWP Annual Conference and Book Fair in Vancouver.


28 February 2005

The book launch takes place in the Guildhall as part of the Bath Literature Festival, with readings from some of the contributors. Simon Trewin from the PFD literary agency announces Ally Kennen as the winner of this year's PFD Creative Writing Prize.


23 February 2005

Launch event coverage in The Bath Chronicle and mention in Bristol and Bath's Venue magazine.


21 February 2005

Over a hundred review copies of the book sent to local and national media, publishers, literary agents and periodicals. A second press release contains information about the book.
